... We spent some time wandering around Piazza del Duomo and ended up in a pizza place. We were in Italy after all! Ofcouse we didn't forget to stroll through the infamous Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II and visited the bull for good luck. ... Geneva to Milan, I counted five castles, and there could easily have been more.

By the time we crossed into Italy, the sights were even prettier. We were greeted shortly across the border by what we think was Lake Maggiore/heaven. The train didn't stop near the lake, but if it had, I would have been sorely tempted to get off there instead!

What I loved the most about Milan was the Duomo. This beautiful Gothic Cathedral left me speechless. I can't find the words to describe how beautiful and amazing this building is. It was just perfect and to know it was build such a long time ago makes it even more amazing.
I knew as I was leaving Milan, heading to Venice, I was about to have a life changing experience.

I thought breakfast was being given at 7.30 so I got up at 7 (somewhat reluctantly you understand) but nothing happened at 7.30 at all. Don't know if the message got a bit mixed up in the "translation" or not. Bottom line is I left at 8 with a glass of water in me to last until the first village after 3 hours walking.
