... The train terminates at Fabriano, which has been, and still is famous for it's quality papers. On the hill above the station it looks to be a magnificent train. We have a short wait for our connection, and our run of good service continues: the driver beckons us to the bike compartment and helps us load our bikes. The rest of the journey to Foligno is in a comfortable air conditioned electric train. Leaving the station at Foligno we plunge into the narrow lanes ...

Aside from the huge Abbey church which is being decorated with olive trees, ...

Just happened that there was a market on Thursday and what a surprise to see so many people in this wee town. It certainly took me by surprise as I thought it would be quite deserted. Its a walled city with too many churches to count and the ones we went into were all so decorated with beautiful paintings ...

Today we travelled up the coast to Sirolo which is just down from Ancona and it was picturesque all the way. Tiny Italians towns on hilltops with large churches dominating the town. All along the coast is built up and it seems to be a continuous city but with lovely house colours that are set off with the blue of the ocean in the background. The litter seems to have gone mostly for now which is great to see. We are in the National Park of Conero and this area is the Riviera of ...

... couple days after that. There was a pool, fresh fruit from the garden, and of course, delicious home cooked Italian meals. It was such a fun and relaxing week and we could not be more grateful to have had this opportunity here in Italy. We have been so lucky and we're not sure why, but hoping it ...
