No breakfast in tariff but still full after dinner. Went to local bar for cappuccino and cornetto. Friendly little place. Staff started preparing locals regular coffee as they walked in the door 4.20€ for 2 cups and a cornetto- good value. Not far to travel so went to Royal Palace which is museum on second floor. Incredible frescos and detail on ceilings and walls and ornate furniture. Hall of mirrors modelled on Versailles. Every ...

Another great breakfast- cereal, home made croissant and toast with meat and cheese. Plus boiled eggs and sweet stuff that I didn't eat. Good unsweetened yoghurt. Still raining.. Was going to head to Cinque Terre but it's raining there too so decided to stop on way at Genoa. Wasn't on my list but looks like it might be interesting and more to do in the wet. All the rivers swollen- heavy rain looks set in for couple days. Train to Milan ...

We awoke to find that we were entering port in Genoa right on time at 8am. It was amazing to watch the ship turn within its own length and then reverse in to its berth right on the doorstep of the city. After breakfast we set off to explore and with the help of a tourist map and explanation from the guide were soon wandering through the narrow confines of this beautiful city. The buildings and laneways suggest a lifestyle so different from what ...

... cries. Oh ****! There goes an entire dinner in Almafi.....No way he says, as he belts downstairs to demand our dirty washing back! I go on the hunt for the closest Laundromat to drop it off to, find my info and return upstairs to find Paul, in the bathroom, hand-washing our bits and hanging them on the towel warmer. It resembled a Chinese laundry. What are you doing???? What does it look like I am doing, he says? Looks like you are washing our clothes in a ...

... yummy) then a heart starting espresso, followed by a Peroni beer on tap. All of these cost me about 15 Euros in total as I bought them all from small local shops in the backstreets rather than the harbour front. Good to see there are local prices you can find and it's not just all for tourists.

I hope the photos do some justice, but they can't capture the slight breeze, the birdsong, the wonderful Spring fragrance...
      Just wonderful. ...
