Our first lunch we both enjoyed a fresh Lasagne Bolognese which was hot and delicious. We cleaned the plate with the bread. Another lunch we stopped at a busy lunch spot full of locals where Eli had a traditional nothern dish (basically stewed pork and cabbage served in a light vegetable broth with melted cheese).

We headed out of Florence early that morning, to make up as much time as possible to put towards the quick detour into the mountains of Northern Italy - we promised Susan's cousin that we'd drop in before heading on to Venice.
