Historical Traveler Reviews Hotel Artorius Rome

      Piccolo hotel di altissimo livello

      from

      from

      from

      First class small hotel

      from

small hotel, immaculately clean, beautifully furnished, excellent location and within short walking distance of trevi, colisseum spanish steps, shopping etc. staff very friendly and couldnt be more

      any age group

      Erstklassiges, kleines Hotel

      from

Lovely New Hotel - Great Location

      from

Lovely new hotel in my favourite area of Rome. As a regular visitor to the city fro work reasons, I always choose Monti as my location of choice because it is simply the best area in Rome. The Artorius is a fantastic addition to the neighbourhood and fits in fantastically with everything else as is cosmopolitan, stylish and charming. Lovely little courtyard for breakfast and in the ideal location next to Via Nazionale, a cracking little spot to start from no matter what you are in Rome to do. Would recommend to all!

      Fantastico hotel nuovo, posizione eccezionale

      from

      from

Reizendes, neues Hotel in meiner Lieblingsgegend in Rom.

      Tolles, kleines Hotel

      from

      Superb small hotel

      from

We stayed 3 nights mid September 2007. Great location close to the Colisseum and Forum, near metro and buses, restaurants, shops. Via del Boschetto - typical Roman side street; narrow, cobbled. Artorius is a superb small hotel. Reception area and hallways; cool and tasteful with lovely stained glass. Room was quiet, very clean and well decorated with a great bathroom - a pleasure to come back to after a days walking around a fantastic city! Air-conditioning, mini bar etc. Staff were helpful and pleasant and breakfast in the open shaded courtyard was lovely - great cappuccino!

Very pleased with all aspects of Hotel Artorius and if/when I return to Rome I will definitely use this hotel again.

      When in Rome...

Arrived in Rome about 9.30 on Monday night after leaving Newark about 11am. Had a car pick us up at the airport which was a bonus as we were a little tired from sitting on our bums all day! It was good as the guy dropped us at what we thought was our hotel but when we arrived were informed that our apartment was down the street a little bit and around the corner. Our first brush with the Italian language and we did ...

... the Baths of Caracalla are the Farnese Bull and Farnese Hercules and over life-size early 3rd century patriotic figures (now in the Museo di Capodimonte, Naples). Sadly these have all been relocated without leaving even copies which makes the whole building feel empty and unloved. There is much more to be done here , especially the grounds which are pretty sad really. They at least should be restored to their former glory. The Caracalla bath complex of buildings was more ...

... We donned our rain jackets, and headed out to the taxi stand we had seen earlier. Well, there were tons at taxis there at 8am when we walked by earlier, but now, with the rain, no such luck. There was sort of a line, and when a taxi finally came by he pulled up to two different sets of people (not us), asked them something, apparently didn't like the answer and sped off! And one finally did come and some other person not next in line pretty much ran up and got in... Oh ...

Before the dinner, the Captain conducted a “chat” during which he answered questions from the passengers as well as discussed FAQ’s. His responses were generally straightforward, often humorous, but somewhat vague in responding to Louis’s question about the “tug incident” at Split. He did say that he didn’t like dealing with and/or using tugs.

      Somewhere north of Rome

Our flight leaving Anchorage was delayed by about an hour and given the tight connection time in Phoenix we missed it by about ten minutes, even though we were told by US Airways in ANC they would hold the flight. Amazingly, we were rerouted through Boston on Alitalia and made it to Rome only three hours behind our original arrival time. I texted the camper van rental contact ahead of time and he waited patiently until we emerged at about 12:30 after clearing customs. ...
