Historical Traveler Reviews Hotel Artorius Rome

      Piccolo hotel di altissimo livello

      from

      from

      from

      First class small hotel

      from

small hotel, immaculately clean, beautifully furnished, excellent location and within short walking distance of trevi, colisseum spanish steps, shopping etc. staff very friendly and couldnt be more

      any age group

      Erstklassiges, kleines Hotel

      from

Lovely New Hotel - Great Location

      from

Lovely new hotel in my favourite area of Rome. As a regular visitor to the city fro work reasons, I always choose Monti as my location of choice because it is simply the best area in Rome. The Artorius is a fantastic addition to the neighbourhood and fits in fantastically with everything else as is cosmopolitan, stylish and charming. Lovely little courtyard for breakfast and in the ideal location next to Via Nazionale, a cracking little spot to start from no matter what you are in Rome to do. Would recommend to all!

      Fantastico hotel nuovo, posizione eccezionale

      from

      from

Reizendes, neues Hotel in meiner Lieblingsgegend in Rom.

      Tolles, kleines Hotel

      from

      Superb small hotel

      from

We stayed 3 nights mid September 2007. Great location close to the Colisseum and Forum, near metro and buses, restaurants, shops. Via del Boschetto - typical Roman side street; narrow, cobbled. Artorius is a superb small hotel. Reception area and hallways; cool and tasteful with lovely stained glass. Room was quiet, very clean and well decorated with a great bathroom - a pleasure to come back to after a days walking around a fantastic city! Air-conditioning, mini bar etc. Staff were helpful and pleasant and breakfast in the open shaded courtyard was lovely - great cappuccino!

Very pleased with all aspects of Hotel Artorius and if/when I return to Rome I will definitely use this hotel again.

We walk along the river again but this time towards Isola, a little island on the River Tevere. Again its hot and we walk and look at the local houses and schools that line the river on the Vatican side. It’s a little dirtier on this side of the river but not scary ghetto dirty. We get to Isola and its not really ...

Our day started early - for some - well, one really!

Lynda was up & ready for some morning air & a walk. She headed off about 6am and walked to the Spanish Steps for a look. It was a little damp when she left but that did not deter her. After some gentle? exercise, up & down the steps, she headed back, ready to continue our adventure.

The rain started to get heavier as we wandered down Via Viminale to another local restaurant, looking ...

... have a halo, or the signs of the stigmata, because when the piece was painted, Francis was not yet a saint. This means that the claim of Assisi of having the earliest and most accurate image of Francis, painted by Cimabue is challenged by this fresco. Brother Maurus argued that the Benedictine image predates the other and was painted by someone who actually saw him. I am not getting into the argument, but the image is very old and is of St Francis. Suddenly and without a lot ...

... Angeli e dei Martiri church is situated. The church was the last structure designed by Michelangelo when he was 88 and was built on the ruins of the Baths of Diocletian.
We could have spent more days seeing the sights of beautiful Rome and maybe even gotten into St Peters Basilica and the Vatican Museums, but 7:20 tomorrow morning we'll be catching the train to Switzerland where our journey home begins.
