... twin concrete tracks that just be for a tractor type vehicle. But very rough, and unbelievably, it gets steeper. Up and up he continues. The trees are so thick that you cannot see the castle or village or anything really. After about 30 minutes of this he stops with heart thumping and decides this must be the wrong way. As you would expect, we were in a delightful terrace (although beside the road, but not so busy at night) with a lake view. Nice meal and of course wine. Apart from the frustration this morning with the roads and trying to fine the hotel for Roger, a near perfect ...

It was lovely having Kaye stay with me for a few days. I picked her up at the Nice train station on the Monday evening. She had been on a cycling holiday with her brother and sisters and so was already in Europe. The train from Brussels was late. Surprise, surprise!!! Unfortunately I had to work the next two days but Kaye was happy resting her foot. She had been told she had tendonitis and it was quite swollen and giving her quite a bit of pain. (It now seems it ...
