    ... However, Angela took exception to my cavalier attitude and decided to sleep in her clothes on top of the bed, with the lights on!

    We had some wonderful cavatelli in honor of Angela's sister Jean who loves the stuff. Angela had hers with ragu while I had mine with seafood. C'mon, we were in a port town after all!

    ... mostly gestures we managed to buy a breadroll laden with meat and cheese, and pepper for Rob, and some wafer thin slices of prosciutto, and some cheese for me. Another small shop had the small deep red tomatoes, a cucumber and a lettuce to complete the lunch. Later in the afternoon we went for a walk along the waterfront, past the small blue fishing boats and the now deserted fish market. We found the supermarket and I enjoyed seeing the tasty looking food ...

    ... than the Preziosa which was the previous ship we were on. That was 18 decks high - this one is 14 decks high. The ship isn't as new, but we like the smaller ones. The Orchestra (the first cruise) was smaller too, not sure how many decks now, but not 18 decks anyway. I seem to have acquired a personal waiter again - breakfast, lunch and dinner! Takes my order off a special menu and delivers ...

    ... 95, which we thought was amazing value. To fill the time before our flight home from Bari we went to Giovinazzo, a seaside town just up the coast which was full of Italians enjoying a promenade in the sun. The flight home was rather bumpy and Gatwick 10 degrees colder than Bari and we had a bad tempered taxi driver from the airport, but felt better after one of Wally's bacon sandwiches.

    ... to leave a gap, fill it with something, suitcases come in very handy. The plan was to go to Bari Centralle stazione drop off our bags and then walk back into town to the Bari Vecchia, the old part near where we had come in. I have a good friend Antonella who lives in Bari and I had hoped she would have been up for meeting us and showing us around her city but she is currently in London so that alas that wasn't going to happen, but she did give me some tips ...
