After a hard day of castle hiking we arrived at Monsaraz just after dark. There are no cars allowed within the perimeter wall of this town except for loading and unloading only so after traversing several switch backs in the car we parked near the wall, grabbed our packs, and made the last 500m on foot. It was a leg burner after all the other hiking we did previously.
