Carretera N-340 Km 149.2, 2 Urb Costa Galera Estepona, Costa del Sol, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands
I got back to the car this morning and sighed a breath of relief that it was still there. That quickly turned to brown trouser time when I noticed a €50 parking ticket. I´ll get round to paying that about the same time I get a job. :-) I didn´t do much today, seen a wee bit more of Sevillas city centre, but I´m waiting on Rosa and her friend arriving so we can all do the touristy ...
Sevilla, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands gary_cailin... us! Oh, and central. We could see via the map that the bullring was close, but it is quite disguised when not in use. Our apartment was directly behind it! A tour of the bullfight museum on Monday morning brought it all to life (or, in the case of the bulls, to death). Bullfighting is still very popular in Spain from Madrid south. When we cruised the crowd going to the bullfight one afternoon, we found they attract all genders (!), ages and ...
Seville, Spain sueschubert... cheap hotel for one night. The room was really nice and again seemed to be hugely underpriced, the hallways were even lit with candles and we both enjoyed a soft bed for a night. On tuesday we got up and walked to the tourist office where we discovered the campsite we had been planning to stay at was closed however they told us of another and the bus to get on to get to it, so we walked to the bus stop and caught the bus to the campsite. The campsite is great very green ...
Seville, Spain tammyjoe... a bunch of old guys dressed as gangstas sing on stage. I did see some creative costumes though, some people were dressed up as Japan (the flag) and that was funny and some others as a hazmat team. Because it was so cold, my friends and I decided to just go to a bar and hang out rather than stay outside, and had a lot of fun overall. I also found out that I can go hang out on the roof of the apartment building and I took a bunch of pictures from it of my street. They've already ...
Seville, Spain jeschica... M & A with us, unfortunately they brought their Philadelphia weather with them to Spain. It rained some part of every day and grand plans of day trips were washed away with the rainy conditions. We had fun though. So many laughs and drinks and meals. Desma was so psyched to have her buddy with her in the country they both love so much. We cannot thank M & A enough for spending a portion of the vacations with us here. We will never forget it. After all of our ...
Estepona, Spain joelandesSHE SAID: Spent most of the day exploring the Cathedral and walking around town looking in shops. The Cathedral was huge and had a tower you could climb to the top. On the way up to the top of the tower there are no stairs, it's a ramp. The ramp used to be used for horses to go up so the caretaker ...
Seville, Spain travelbeeJuly 1, 2007 Sevilla I walked around the neighborhood my hostel is in today, the old city. I started at 11:15 or so, after the first full night's rest I've had since getting to Europe, and went imediatly to buy pants and some shirts. I think that Spanish fashion was created for me, I absolutely love it! I waled around aimlessly for a while with a map that I got from the hostel. I ended up at a little info kiosk near the grand cathedral where I asked for ...
Seville, Spain sigmastarstate... that the roundtrip only cost 45 euros. That's amazing! I'm kinda nervous for the hostel. This will be my first time in one and it's not one of the nicest ones either. We definitely went for the cheaper end and prime location. It should be really interesting. Oh! And the room situation will be an experience because there are four of us booked together and we're staying in a 14 person room. Aaahhh! I'm expecting to get some ...
Sevilla, Spain tla269... certainly would have spent far too much during the semester had I known about it. It was so much fun! The whole race I was winning until the last lap when David Popkins, Matt's roommate (my friend I went to Beijing with), slammed into the back of my car and thus I lost traction and slowed down and he passed me. These karts go way faster than any go-karts I've done in the US, and they bash you around in the seat quite a bit. We all had bruises between our knees where they continued ...
Sevilla, Spain catedoyle... did not prove to be very fruitful either. Finally, at 7:50 am, Cindy called our director, Wayne, and told him what was going on. That man is such a slacker; he acted like it was such a big deal to get up "in the middle of the night." He met us on a corner and drove us to one of the pharmacies that was open "on Saturday night." Can you believe that 9:30 am on Sunday morning is considered Saturday night?! This country is so useless. Well, we finally got to a ...
