In Front of Chicago House Corniche el Nile Street Luxor, Nile River Valley, Egypt
I woke up after a good sleep still being a bit tired from the journey down to Luxor. After been awoken by a call to prayer at 6 in the morning a guy basically walking through the street banging a metal plate with a stick making a racquet I headed into the shower which is a bit dodgy to say the least, it makes the strange rattling sound when the hot water comes out and then basically starts to shake without any hot water coming out and then all of a sudden the hot water starts to pour our out ...
Luxor, Nile River Valley, Egypt richardcowley... nation has a lot to offer and if you are looking to enjoy a true blend of luxury and adventure then do avail the Nile River Cruises. The Nile River Cruises give the tourists a peek into the Egyptian village life. The countryside, still very ancient in the way that people live in clay huts, plough fields manually and use animal pulled carts as vehicles, can be viewed first hand by the passengers while sunbathing on the deck of a cozy ship. Depending on your ...
Luxor, Nile River Valley, Egypt kemery... of cokes and a water but didnt care. Everyone loves toursits in egypt, they all hassle you and try to sell you anything they can get their hands on. One guy even wanted money for showing us the entrance to the sphinx - which was clearly marked and was in the direction we were heading. We had kfc for lunch and ate it in front of our guide who was fasting for ramadan and nearly passing out due to dehydration - they cant eat, drink or smoke between sunrise and sunset ...
Luxor, Al Baḩr al Aḩmar, Egypt leahymatth... the constest on his birthday, and unsure about entering his late 20s, the man on the street did not make him feel any better.

That night Tom and Brittany went out to a Chinese restaurant at a 5 star hotel for his birthday dinner. Tom was pleasently surprised when the egyptian man sang him happy birthday with a cake and candle at the end of the dinner. Sadly, there was only 1 candle as 26 could not fit on the cake. In the meantime Lindsey and Sarah went out to dinner with ...
Luxor, Egypt kickthrough... there. Melissa teaches science to 7th graders, which as I said are from 11 to 17, in Cameroon in an Anglophile area. She is totall issolated, as is Kat, as it seems are most Peace Corps volunteers. The nearest other foreigner is 2 hours away. She deals daily with the awful hassle of being known simply as "white man" to all around her. At least she speaks the language...Kat lives in a francophone area and upon arrival in Cameroon spoke no French...
<br ...
Luxor, Egypt jimmyandkristen... its not a souvenir, its an investment! So then we decided to see Karnak during the daytime, and it was really something. There are more hieroglyphics here than any other place we\ve been to, really easy to walk around and there really wasnt all that many people there. Lots of pics, lots of footage, lots of heat, but we\re used to it now! So were leaving for Cairo on a sleeper train due to arrive at 5 and have only 3 more days in Egypt before Jordan. I have to say its ...
Luxor, Nile River Valley, Egypt randy_from_nb5am wake up to take the boat ride and pick up our donkeys for the 7km trek to the Valley of the Kings. While I was hesitant at first it was a lot more comfortable than I thought it would be. The guys on the other hand did not find it as comfortable and we joked it was the Egyptian version of a vasectomy. After 1km on my donkey, he got hungry so what does he do? cut across the entire group to eat a plant, seconds later I have 3 donkeys ...
Luxor, Nile River Valley, Egypt cora_explorer... we stopped at Edfu and the Temple of Horus which is the most completely preserved temple in Egypt, and then went to Karnak Temple when we got into town. The sphinx lined path into the temple was very cool, and in the Great Hypostle Hall we were surrounded by massive pylons all around. Today was our trip out to the Valley of the Kings. We went into 3 different tombs, showing how the designs ...
Luxor, Nile River Valley, Egypt kitty161... the side of the Nile in the area that flooded which would actually carry the obelisk. Once the obelisk was loaded on that boat they waited for the Nile to flood, at which time 30 small boats were roped together to pull this massive stone up to where it was intended. According to Mohammed this is the only place such a scene is depicted and it’s a pretty amazing solution.

Mohammed then found a small grey rock on the ground near the foot of the temple that had a ...
