... brick , hiding breathtaking mosaics are br . You are only allowed in there for 15 mins at a time to help preserve these amazing jewel like images.

ENJOY the pics ...... We were snapping away like turtles .... Noel has many many more if you are interested in a slide night ...... !!!

We are now heading back towards the centre of Italy ......Tuscany here we come......

... we went to the local store to buy some wine to enjoy in the town square. We walked into town and discovered that they had music in the town square. There were two women playing , one on the piano and on on the violet. We enjoyed the music then went for a late bite to eat. We found a pizza place. The pizza was so tasty. ... a magnificent mosaic feature over and around the alter. The mosaics survived the troubled times including WWII but not all the Greek marble remained in place. A number of churches were built in the area and the monks abandoned the Basilica for some time. In this time, the marble was removed/stolen. Marble from some of the other churches was recovered from their ruins and installed in the church.

... to eat and then jump back on the bike. I had a soft yoghurt - with a little chocolate drizzled on top. Very refreshing and all that I needed.

We called into a couple of Tourist Info Centre's along the way to get the cycle map for that district. The people were very helpful and we had a map with directions and info to guide us on our way. ... Mercedes especially to shop. They had also cooked a BBQ that they wanted to share. We had a tour of the farm and saw some of the new lambs and massive bull.
