    ... down the river. Our first stop was the mud baths – this was something G had been looking forward to as skin treatment. I’m glad we had left early because we were the only people there.     ... we felt it sensible to "park off". Sticking to the back roads and keeping as close to the lake as possible in hope of finding something led us to Dalyan. Dalyan is famed for its tourist attractions most of which are reached by boat taxis.


    The turtles at the river mouth, the mudbaths and the Kaunos archaeological site being some of the more popular stop overs if one takes a day tour.

    We didn’t really have enough time to do the full museum bit although it did look interesting and well presented.

    The harbour below was jammed with yachts and other tourist boats with names like “Jolly Roger” and “White Whale”.

    ... choice for our last evening meal. We had enjoyed other dishes but the speciality dishes requiring "slow cooking" definitely needed to be sampled. We pre – ordered a lamb dish cooked in a clay pot and Serife’s personal favourite, a chicken bake. These were supplemented by meze, a chicken cooked in an iron pan and a mince pancake.

    ... while still in our euphoric state after Lewis' fantastic victory in front of his beloved home crowd, we head back down to the cauldron for one last time...!!! I guess we get in an hour or so before the sun drops down below the treetops, plunging us into dappled sunshine for a while before it's full shade only and time to call it a day. Knowing it's the last time we'll be going back to our room from the Relax Pool, it's with heavy hearts that we trudge up ...
