... we passed through security who checked the large locker, under the sofa and in the back storage area, it's a good job we didn't stow away any of those cats and dogs! We then cooked tea and settled in for the long wait at dock no. 5. Other vehicle began to arrive, wagons, white vans, a camper van, an overlander built on a small wagon chassis and cars, the occupants wandered about, some chatting in groups, the wagon drivers sat at the side of the vehicles and cooked ...

11/11 Corfu

We left the ship late and spent some time using the Port's free wifi. We were heading to the bus stop to take a bus into town when we ran into an enterprising taxi driver. The weather is hot and sunny and although not planned, we decided to bring the bikes out and go for a ride in Greece. Anyone who has driven or walked in Greece knows that this decision was not taken lightly as the drivers are a bit crazy. However, it was Sunday and we have found that wherever we have been in Europe the traffic has been very light ...

Rainy day in Corfu

We arrived in Corfu in quite heavy rain. We had organized a hire car for €43 which was very reasonable, and decided we would continue on with our plans. We drove to Paleokastritsa Bay which would have been beautiful on a nice day with a very rugged coastline and beaches. There was a monastery that we walked to with raincoats and umbrellas and viewed the inside of the church. Greek churches have flat ceilings and are decorated ...
