Next on the must-see list of Italy was Venice. For pure wow factor alone, this may be one of my all time favorite cities. The island portion of Venice is truly fascinating with no motor vehicles or really even bicycles, because anything with wheels would need to navigate a veritable maze of waterways, bridges, and stairs. ... Pizza San Marco, climbed the dominating Campanile to see the amazing view over the red clay roofs of Venice, and wandered the beautiful Basilica di San Marco, admiring its marble and gold.
