Meringen is two train stations away from Lungern and we arrived quite quickly from Ballenberg. We walked the 2 kms to the site where the Circus was set up and paid (an astronomical price) for our 4 tickets. It made the 5CHF reduction/ticket a bit silly, ...

We then wandered around looking at the available restaurants. There was a self service restaurant and a full service restaurant with amazing views of the surrounding snow and ice. I went in and asked them to reserve a table for us for a little later in the day.

... found on the Zyt tower chiming one minute before all of the other clocks in Lucerne. It was built in 1535; the pendulum is 9 meters long! It was hard work climbing those stairs especially with short legs like mine! Coming down also not for the faint hearted! However the views from the top are breathtaking and I'm very pleased I did it. I also walked over a bridge that has the Wasserturm Water Tower built in ca 1300 as part of the city wall to serve as holder ...

... slower start run was still pretty fun- they have these stupidly sharp turns that you can't make- basically the track hits the ski track but shoots off at a 135 degree angle so you don’t go over the ski run. But you go that fast you can’t turn in time, spin out and start heading down the ski run backwards. It was another awesome day.

Today we did a test run to the Zurich airport to familiarize Kristin and I with the train route, connections and airport, as we saw David and Beth off to Los Angeles for the week. It's really amazing how these trains (for the most part) are like clockwork.
