Homer, Alaska, United States nealinthailand... hostess warm, we cooked our dinner in the large kitchen, enjoyed the view at the living room. Before bed, we took a drive to the spit. A lot of cars on the street, but few people on the street. I heard from somewhere (I forgot) that these people who drove cars there were on boats. It's 11 p.m. but sun still shone on us. My body couldn't adjust to it. So I felt dizzy.
Homer, Alaska, United States mrduby... A local man recommended the Boardwalk Fish-n-Chips across the street. Got the halibut and cod; both very good. Came back here another day it was so good. It’s a perfect place to look at the water while you eat.

The Alaska Islands and Oceans Visitor Center (Wildlife Refuge) is fantastic. Wow do they have a lot to offer—exhibits, films, daily ranger-led activities (walks ...
Homer, Alaska, United States ranlo... the largest glacier in Alaska. As we landed in Anchorage Mt. Susitna, the sleeping lady, was in full view. Hopefully our flight to Homer will be just as smooth. Our flight to Homer was smooth. The plane held about 20 people and there was a full plane. After claiming our luggage, we grabbed a cab, stopped at Safeway for breakfast foods and then on to our cabin. It felt good to finally be at our destination after traveling for about 16 hours.
Homer, Alaska, United States eagle46On July 28th, Carolyn and I had our first day off while being at Great Alaska, so we decided to take a road trip and explore a bit of the peninsula. We decided that we would take the sterling highway down the west coast of the Kenai Peninsula to the quaint fishing town of Homer. We lucked out in that the weather was amazing, the sun had come out for the first time in a couple weeks, so we enjoyed the ...
Homer, Alaska, United States p.flo-and-mr.a... woman, she doesn't know squat about outdoor footwear. The sandals that I received as a gift look decent enough but were flimsy and shoddily made. They should never have been put on a 10 mile hike in the middle of Alaska.....i feel responsible for their death. I was able to find the anchorage airport without much trouble but my mind was fooled and now I am sad. The only time I drive into ...
Homer, Alaska, United States nealinthailand... van all set up and ready for me to move into in the next week or so. I dont mean to be an ******* but at this point I really dont see the point of sticking around this cabin. The whole idea behind the cabin was to help sam and make it more pleasant for her but at the moment I just couldnt care less about her and the fact that I have to pay $100 a month in rent just to be miserable around her is just insane. mmmm mini van I dated Sam when I was 29 and she was 18 ...

As I drove away I had to think about these brave souls and the courage it must have taken to practice their religion during the period of the Cold War when the United States and the U.S.S.R were global competitors for world power. I think the short visit was good for my soul as I saw the determination and strength of conviction which people hold in maintaining a link with the past. As I left Kenai City I followed the ...
Homer, Alaska, United States lobo... would have hired a top notch ad agency to design the flag they might have gotten into the union sooner. Maybe orphaned Eskimos don't ALWAYS win... Just a thought. Watching the otter in the bay was boring by most network standards, but had us enthralled for the amount of time wasted on a sitcom with commercials. Watching an animal free and not on public exhibit was refreshing.. Today we observed a line of "fisherman" in waders standing in evenly ...
Homer, Alaska, United States wolfpackcruiser... climbed steadily for about the first mile. We weren't sure how populated the trail may have or may not have been so we also weren't quite sure of the wildlife danger, if any. What was working out for us was that we were hiking in the middle of the day so that reduced any chance of seeing any wildlife by a pretty big margin, which is both good and bad in my mind. I do love seeing wildlife to take photos of, but on the other ...
