We set out early for the US border along the Top of the World Highway, but the road was partly gravel and so the going was slow. The views were really nice and very remote, much like the Dempster, but perhaps after so many days of scenery, it began to wear on us, because it was not too "wowing".

... Judy & Mike, friends of Walt & Grace's, had come over to dinner. I was invied to join them & we ended up chatting about all sorts. Walt had cooked some of the salmon he caught on the bbq & it was delicious. He was looking up recipes for deserts when I said I would make some chocolate brownies, which I did but Judy & Mike left before they were cooked as they get up early for work.
Celine & Zinna came over & we all chatted till late
... items in a yard sale, as that family were selling up & moving to Montana.
When we left we went north to Fox & then down some dirt tracks with Walt scouting for blueberries. We stopped in one patch but we hadn’t picked many when Walt decided it was not good enough as the berries were too scattered so we moved to another down a very skinny track which Walt could not turn round in so had to drive some distance further on after dropping Grace & I off. This evening we are looking forward to an Alaskan salmon, prime rib and battered cod bake so I'll check in with you later!

... serpentine construction of the pipeline was evident but many of those vista points didn't occur at safe places to stop for a photo so we were left to shooting at the front window. Crossing the Yukon River did afford one of the safer stopping points and other than the bugs, was a nice place to view the mighty river and the bridge that carried the pipeline across it.
