... to the road so managed to get some great photos, about a thousand of them !! They had to drag me kicking away from the window to let other people have a go. Pulling into Eielson we have a 30 minute break for lunch and photos of Mt McKindlay but due to massive cloud cover we couldnt even see Mt McKindlay let alone take a photo of it. ... I was only interested in the hot springs. They were a bit of a disappointment as I compared them to Liard Hot Springs which were in a natural creek. These were in a man-made pool. They had done it up quite well with big rocks and a lovely pebbly floor. It was very clean and neat. I stayed in too long and felt quite unwell. It was stupid of me, but I did manage to shower and get dressed and make my way to the turtle truck where I soon regained my normal body heat. ...

We took a tour of an Athabascan Indian village and learned how they survived the climate and environment here hundreds of years ago. And we visited a sled dog camp, petted some Alaskan huskies and learned how strong, loyal and smart these dogs are.

-Sun sets here 12:30 am and rises 3:15 am
