... at two little boys, "so what do you want for Christmas?". I'm not sure but I think one of them may have wet this breeches.

Lunch was at the North Pole Mexican restaurant. It was far from any Mexican that I had ever had before but, hey, we are in Alaska. We just beat dark clouds back to camp. I got together another batch of postcards written and addressed for the kids and hit the hay early because our drive/fly to the Arctic is scheduled for 5 a.m.

... located in a valley and overlooks the Nenana river. The rivers in this part of Alaska look murky and grey. They remind me of watery concrete mix. We are told that it is because as the glaciers melt in the summer, the runoff water is silty, full of rocks and gravel and ground up granite that the glacier picks up as it creeps along. -The Ididerod takes around 9-10 days; goes from Anchorage to Nome about 1,000 miles
-Alaska has one of the largest lakes in the US, Lake Iliamna covers 1,000 square miles and is as big as CT
-They cancel meetings when the temperature hits 30 below zero!
