    The wake up call was for 4:30, it was not necessary as KC and I were both up for hours prior to the call. I knew this would be the second worse day of our trip, the first was the flight to Tokyo. Fortunately, the breakfast buffet at the Novotel began at 3:00am.

    ... room. They'll pour a tablespoon of gin in your glass and then ask if you want to pay double for a real drink. They'll hand you an outrageous bill and, on close examination realize -oops - they accidentally doubled the total. Usually just an extra dollar here and there. You just feel you've just been had about five times a day. It takes the fun out of things. I don't think we'll ever come back.

We purchased our ticket and hired a local guide named Shawn. He explained that the trees may have been around before the islands were formed 66,000,000 years ago. He said that is was recently discovered that the male tree pollen is carried to a female tree by geckos. We did see geckos on the male trees stamens.
