We headed off to the airport bright and early for a 10:05am flight to Bali. We took a free shuttle bus from our hotel to Kowloon Station, where we caught the airport shuttle train. We were able to check in at Cathay Pacific at Kowloon Station, so we didn't have to worry about our luggage. What a great system this is! You get your boarding pass right then and there, so all you need to do is take the train and once at the airport, find the gate. Wow! We certainly could learn a lot from them. Mo...
Keliki, Indonesia michncamWe started the day off with breakfast at the hotel before we met Dewa, our tour guide (pronounced "Day Wa"). Alam Sari recommends that you take a free tour of their village, Keliki, since most of their staff live there. The tour started at 9:00am and lasted for about 4 hours and it was incredible! When you go away on vacation, especially to hot spots like Bali, you don't really get a chance to experience the local culture, the way people actually live... we definitely caught a glimpse of this...

... will have to read their blog to find out how that went (link to blog). In the afternoon the four of us went back to our pool (of course) and relaxed with a couple of more beers... As a last note on that we think it is very commendable what they are doing and wish them all the best with their endavours and their travels!
The next day we were off to the Gili Islands. These are three islands north west of Lombok with apparantly great beaches, great dive sites and a ...
... If only! [Rich: Good times! Tom and I also spent ages trying to perfect Tom standing on my shoulders; good jon he'd lost some weight!] We went out for a quiet drink that night - skipping Zigiz and its loud music. We instead chose a local restaurant and were 'treated' to an exceptionally bad musical performance by this bloke called Wayan. We we later got chatting to him- after inquiring about our future travel plans, he proudly told us that he ...

... Once the holiday is over, we will resume going back to their schoolhouse to teach instead of from our home. The children told us that they didn't want to learn today and just play games. We felt the same way. So, we just did an easy lesson by reviewing everything we had been learning since I believe the best way for the kids to really learn anything is to repeat them. Then we played a game about animals, which was fun and easy for them, but also got them ...
Ubud, Bali, Indonesia snclark8... but not a large portion. This place charged 15% on top of the prices (10% tax, 5% gratuity) and I tipped another 10,000 Rp in addition to that since I had used their Internet so frequently. The Swedish girls ordered salads, which were both absolutely enormous. They both seemed full after eating only a salad for dinner, although one of the girls had salmon on her salad. The day before we left, Lisa and I walked back to the pharmacy to restock some of the medicine ...

Then grabs our passports, makes us sit down, hands us cold towels and runs away. Before we know it, a dude is wheeling our luggage (and Ravneet) to our room. Now thats service. So I walk into this really nice looking room, I think it was an art gallery going by ...
Bali, Indonesia sumitcan... meal and so found Warung Indonesia and noodle soup (about $5 in total for us both). We then went to find the club where One said he worked (well we think that's what he said) and found The Bounty which had about 6 different sections (karaoke, live band, restaurant, african drumming, surf movies with dance music and little homie locals pulling hte moves) - the last 2 sections being all within a huge fake boat! It was 2 for 1 happy hour and we happily whiled away several ...
