... massive city I had never set foot in, so I quickly got to work, filling it with as many activities as possible. <br>Navigating the tube was my first challenge. ... that Ljubljana, Slovenia is a beautiful city, and well worth a visit. And many are visiting. The streets are filled--but not overly crowded--with european tourists. And some American, too. But, it is not an obnoxious presence. Street and river side cafes abound, are very comfortable with a variety of offerings. I am not too culturally smart in that I still don't know what to order to get a big cup of coffee, rather than some little thing that ...

Such a nice place, it would take a lot more time from me to take over this attractive city. Inhabitants are only 130 000 but somehow it seems a lot bigger. The weather was first time cloudy today =( I really don't complain cause the Sun has bee close to the best ...

... Friday 12/10/07 After the insanely tiring journey to Bled yesterday we allowed ourselves a well deserved lie in. The hostel definitely wasn't one of the best and we found out the bathroom doors didn't lock when we heard a girl screaming when someone walked in on her having a shower! Showered and ready for an action packed day we set off into town in search of breakfast as we had missed the free one provided by the hostel. We had seen a nice looking bar/restaurant ...

So all feeling quite shabby after a solid week's drinking on the yacht in Croatia and all with a weird stomach bug that spread like a plague around the boat we boarded an overnight bus to Ljubljana. The winding roads along the Croatian coast didn't do a whole lot for any of us. I was so busy concentrating on not being sick that I couldn't get to sleep. But poor Eddie wasn't as lucky she couldn't wait for the drivers to find a pull ...

... the train station and it was clear up the hill and on the other side of town. It would have been awful to walk with our packs early in the morning, hungry, while it was snowing... I like how things just seem to have their way of working out for the best! :) On with our day...

... to get in a few hours of window shopping and then once the craze of the city got to us, a simple turn down a small alleyway brought us to an inner-city with no cars, no noises, and plenty of lovely walking streets. Tomorrow we head off to the northern town of Bled - a small village town with an island castle in the middle of a beautiful green lake. A few days of rest and relaxation before heading off to Austria and some good apple strudel!
