Before we start off on our lengthy trip to Shanghai tomorrow we thought we would take a nice walk around the river valley. We ended up driving up the hill to take a nice picture of the river / downtown area. It's now 8pm and I'm starting to pack for tomorrow morning! :)

... generally good, kind hearted people. There are a few bad apples but generally, people are good. I honestly wasn't sure about this before I left - it is a scary thing to travel alone as a woman to India and Vietnam - but meeting all these strange people, from different cultures, religions, beliefs and values - I had very few, if any really dangerous of stressful situations (minus the horrible getting left at hospital incident...that was really the only bad ...

... should see it at some time. Got my piece of the tunnels to add to the collection.

Verdun really shows the extreme of it all as the landscape is still marred and will always be. amazing as it is very pretty country in that area. It is great that they made the whole area into a memorial park. Seemed fitting. but when you see the memorial...and all the markers ... wow ... lot of reality check.

After some 10 minutes I disembarked again and decided to walk up to the car I knew Michael was and he laughed when he saw me saying that he'd noticed and joked with a few others that I would have been left with only the clothes on my back and no way to reach ...

... it was raining and 11 degrees. We weren’t prepared for the disembarkation outside, so we made a quick run to the bus on the tarmac that took us to the terminal. The connection time to our Edmonton flight was short and the 6 ½ hour flight home was uneventful.

In Edmonton we said good-bye to Terry and Sandra, who were flying on to Kelowna where they live, and so ended our wonderful "three trips in one" 30 days in ...
