    ... in the road by saying, "There doesn't appear to be a traffic jam at the moment", which of course was true since this was such a dark and desolate place that it appeared that perhaps another car had not passed by in hours. A long 200 meter walk in the now-darkness was required to reach our home for the next four nights, a place advertised on airbnb as "Auntie's Tree House". This turned out to be a nicely restored 700-year-old stable on the steep hillsides below Volissos' historic castle. ...
