... the morning because Lotte was howling and scratching at my door. Convinced that Inese had not been home to walk her, I gave in and took her for a walk around the block in my pyjamas.
This went on for a couple of days, until Anna and I started to compare notes:
"I just took Lotte for a walk, she was looking so sad!! I think she hadn't been out of the house the entire day!"
"But... I just took her for a walk half an hour ago!"
... of the buildings are really, really hideous, with a thousand of what my Dad used to refer to as "gob-ons" - fat cherubim and squirly bits and strange animals, but then you come to one that is a little more restrained and it's absolutely charming. And the one right next door might be so plain as to be almost severe - I don't know a lot about this period of Art History, but I would guess the plainer stuff is starting to be Art Deco.
... parents and the freedom Latvians now hold. In her parents time, under USSR, one would not be able to travel the world, you could not study abroad let alone think of changing your course. Different times, different worlds!
