... as we walk around the shops. I am loving all the clothing and lace in the shops and make Craig a bit crazy with all my "shopping". I can't decide on anything. We sit at a corner cafe for a glass of wine & a beer while I think about it. I finish my wine first & leave Craig to settle up while I take one more look at the shops. Craig finds me and makes a decision - we are bringing home a gorgeous new tablecloth.

... br> The 30 min boat trip back to the city was fun although the wind was getting up, making the water a bit rough. Our guide chatted away about living in Venice as a local and gave us insights into the challenges that confront a population that is outnumbered ( 55,000 compared to annually 28 million visitors!) and so reliant on tourists. A nice dinner out to celebrate Mary's birthday capped off an interesting day.

... pants! Thank goodness I was wearing my jeans. I had a Shout wipe as well as water from my drinking glass, but what a mess. At least it didn't land on my linen camera bag! Or my head. ... We arrived at 5 a.m and made our way through the check-in/luggage drop off process very quickly and within half and hour we were through security and on our way to finding our departure gate. We made a quick stop to grab our last Nutella stuffed croissant of the trip and then continued along to our gate. We boarded on time and off we went to Amsterdam.
