... times per day.<br style="line-height: 15.8599996566772px;"> Due to the traffic conditions in Paris (it can take an hour to drive somewhere it can take 15 minutes to walk) we opted to take the metro to the above ground train station even with our gigantic luggage.  This actually turned out well since the RER train drops us off inside the Gare de Lyon station, we just had to navigate to a different level for the surface trains. Some people might plan a whole trip to Europe based on what I stumbled across today.

This morning we had a tour of the Doge's Palace. The guys drove all through the night and we ended up in Venezia very early in the morning! Everything worked out perfectly. We all took a family photo in front of good ol' Gertrude and we all said our goodbyes. Some of their journeys are just beginning ...

... new word for water, and people watching as definitely became our favourite pastime. We were both surprised to see that it wasn't unusual to see locals enjoying wine or liqueurs at 9am. Apparently no time is too early to start drinking here. Some days the heat was intense and it wouldn't be hard for us to crush 6-10 litres of water. On our last day we hit the train station we were pleased to see that Florence was only going to be 28 degrees, time to escape the ...
