The time has gone by so quickly, we are at the end of a most enjoyable cruise. Finishing in Venice was a delight for us. However, arriving by ship we had mixed feelings, the arrival through the lagoon was glorious and the vista was spectacular, but knowing that the ships are causing problems by the creation of turbulence into the lagoon made one feel guilty - a city being loved so much by tourists.

... we stopped for gelato early today, a change in the tradition. We ended up getting a custom made (we got to watch) glass piece for home, our last name, written in red glass. The piece is beautiful, and we have the whole process of making it on video-it only took fifteen minutes.
