... centre of the Jewish Ghetto. This was the first ghetto in the world when the Venetian Republic insisted that all the Jews live here in the 18th Century. The square was lovely and full of young children playing and almost no tourists. This area was great to wander through as it was so quiet and far from the madding crowd. We had dinner in a really nice walled garden by the side of a canal.

... front of this gorgeous little shop by way of photos of the maker/owner with Sandra Bullock and the cast of 'Criminal Minds' (both my favourites) as they had all been to his shop too! Our purchases in hand we went on to find the little chocolate shop as well - happy days in Venice!

After a good nights rest, we were ready to do some more exploring. First, we moved some of the furniture around to make the place more to our liking. One of the things we did was move the dining table so we could look out both the windows to the garden and over the bridge.

... the cafes are now closed. Fortunately for us, the Hermes hotel just around the corner had one room left that night, so we happily took it and somehow were able to sleep.

The world works in funny ways but with a positive attitude something will eventually work out! Sorry Venice for the brief time we were there but I'm glad we did it, had to see the beauty of the canals and rich history there.
