Hey there, sorry to have a gap in the virtual tourist ride. Yesterday, Sunday, we left Portoscuso and headed North on the Island to a fishing port called Alghero – not a small port by any standards – a mix of traditional fishing boats moared in with pleasure craft and charter boats. We traveled along the coast – steep coast for 46 kms from our lunch stop, Bosa Marina to ...

We have continued to explore Sardinia's beaches this week… Spiaggia Quartu San Elena, Spiaggia Castelsardo, Foxi Manna, Spiagga Barisone…all amazing with beautiful scenery, warm water, sandcastles to be built, and gelato to be eaten (Cioccolata for Abby and Fragola for Jackson) . The best day wind and weather wise on our last day here. Enjoyed watching the fishermen whilst in the shower, M-L doing same from her breakfast in bed spot. It is like stepping back in time in the old village. The craft of basket weaving is still done by the old italian women, ...

... a head shade at a cost of 5 euros. We settled in for an afternoon of people watching and knocking back the African sand to sand salespeople, do you know the blokes go around selling what they call bikinis (really just a tiny bit of material) and the girls try them on right there and then! The water is too cold for most people but not for the Don and M-L but they are not in ...

... way. Donny had ordered a coffee and hot chocolate and sat on the balcony which overlooks the town beach and rocky escarpment. M-L and I went in to ask to speak with her. We asked at the bar / cafe area if Piera was there. The lady behind the bar looked at us quizzically, I asked again for Piera, she looked over to a guy sitting in the lounge area and spoke some italian, he said a few words and a smile came over her face, ahh Piera see see, I nodded. The next thing she did was go to ...
