Just when we thought Venice was the most beautiful place we would visit in Italy, Varenna may have beaten it into second place. Neither of us can get our heads round the fact that we are actually seeing what's around us. The apartment is amazing and the views from the balcony alone are worth the trip. Claire has also befriended a blind cat so we keep having to think of excuses to go and see the lady so Claire can rub the cat.

... stay the night at her place. I can't even express what a blessing that was, especially with the timing. We had been a bit stressed that day and just needed the companionship of someone who knew the area. She took such great care of us, and introduced us to some more of her friends the next day. She didn't have a lot of patience for us and said you couldn't swap out any of the other sauces and just throw in the gluten free pasta instead. She said the gluten free pasta came with a tomato sauce. We envisioned, ...

... The Mont Blanc Tunnel is 11.6 kilometres long, runs under the mountains between France and Italy and at its deepest point is running about 2.5 Kim under the surface of the mountain making it the deepest operational motorway tunnel in the world. Well - we got to within 4 kilometres of reaching the tunnels entry when we just came to a halt in a massive long line of traffic, so much so that it then took us over ...

Today we flew from Munich back to Milan to round out our European adventure! Instead of staying in the hotel or by the airport, we ventured for a day trip to the beautiful lake Como only a train ride away from Milan! There we took a ferry cruise to the beautiful Bellagio, right at the tip in the middle of lake Como! With amazing views and Italian ambiance we indulged ourselves in shopping, lots and lots of gelato, some drinks with great views, and an ...
