Al Kawther Hotel Suites Sharjah

Hi everyone

On Friday, we visited the amazing Burj al Arab hotel for lunch. The only way you can get in is if you are a guest (it costs $1000's a night) or if you make a booking for lunch or dinner.

This hotel is the only 7-star hotel in the world, and unless we win lotto I don't think that I'll ever be able to stay a night ...

We arrived safe and sound in Dubai after a pretty unevenful 10 1/2 hour flight from Perth. From there things went a little south, as our hotel that mum had booked told us that they didn't have a spare room for us, but they had given us another room at the Marriot hotel around the corner - and from there things started looking up again. um mitternacht noch schnell ins restaurant, abendessen, ein glas wein.... ja, überhaupt kein problem ....... und ab ins bett...
am nächsten morgen schnell frühstücken.......der shuttle wartet schon und zurück zum flughafen......das war's mit dubai...

I was thinking of going to farway places, and then figured out I really had to go visit the museums of Sharjah, as it is called the "cultural" city of the UAE. ... up a really nice walking area, like a boardwalk. Sharjah had an amazing Corniche, with hundreds of palm trees perfectly lined up and a MASSIVE mosque at the end. The buildings that overlooked the bay were beautiful as well. The Sheikh of Sharjah is a trained architect, so he has made sure that most of the newer buildings have some sort of unique trait. Oh by the way, getting back to the entertainment, you could play video games with anyone on the plane, needless to say I kicked Iraidas butt in a couple of round of checkers, trivia, and pong (Ok maybe she won a few).
