I found a seat, which were at least comfortable and watched some TV on my laptop. About 5 minutes after I sat down, I was joined by two Middle Eastern guys in their early twenties, who sat either side of me. Without saying a word to me, they began watching over my shoulder. ... book, iPhone and iPad all stayed tucked away. Managed a few hours - 5? - sleep before touching down in Dubai at 11.25pm. Welcomed by 34 (!!) degree heat even at that hour of night, and thanks to a couple of other hotel guests holding the bus, scrambled onto our hotel shuttle and checked in just after 12:30am. ... Bur Dubai but at the last minute was moved to Traders so that I could check in immediately. I slept for 4 hours in the most comfortable bed, however I'm sure I could have slept on a plank I was so happy to be lying down instead of sitting. ... am not the best of passengers so sitting in the back of a 4WD driving up and down some rather large sand dunes was an experience for me lol. Despite being a bit hairy at times I did enjoy it.

Along the way we made a brief stop to watch the sun set over the dunes - a very different type of sunset. The sky was cloudless but there is a constant haze over the area made for an interesting, if somewhat eerie, sunset.
