So . . . back to our tour. Our first destination was the Burj Kahlifa (Burj = tower, Kahlifa is the name of an Emirates president), the highest building in the world at 2715 feet tall (2X the empire State Building). At the base of the tower is the Dubai Mall, the world's largest shopping mall which has an aquarium, a skating rink, a waterfall, 1200 stores and 200 restaurants. We were ...

It was very hazy as it has been since we've been here but ...

... and we didn't have enough time to go to Burj Al Arab for an amazing afternoon tea at the Skyview Bar. I think Toby was relieved and possibly planned his procrastination as he seemed unsure about spending $180AUD pp at a high tea. A missed opportunity but something I will come back to do. After reviewing our limited options for the afternoon before we were being collected for our desert safari tour we decided to go ...

      In transit again

Arrived in Dubai at 8.30pm last night to 35' and high humidity. It was like walking into a sauna! Had to wait awhile for the hotel bus, but eventually got there. The voucher allowed us dinner and breakfast. Room very comfortable so had a good night's rest. At the airport we are departing from Gate A ...
