... legs none the less - even if they must be stretched in 45 degree temperatures.

I took some time to see Dubai Mall (with it's dancing fountains show), the Mall of the Emirates (it has an indoor ski slope!), the Burj Khalifa and the Palm Island. I would like to have gone up the Burj Khalifa, but it would have ...

For me – and I may be wrong – it seemed to me to be better planned than Dubai and constructed in a more considered way - no elevated Metro such as seen in Dubai for example …but then again, as Shehnaaz said, the construction of Abu Dhabi is at about the same stage Dubai was at some 16 years ago.

Yesterday was not that clear - no wind, and early 30's temperature. Today is looking much clearer and is going to be around 36 degrees. We did stop by the sea on our city tour, and they have outside showers there - and a toilet with no toilet paper. Lucky I always have tissues as the one in the gas station yesterday had none either.

You can get everything here, Tiffany & Co., Gucci and Rolex sit alongside Marks & Spencer, BHS and Virgin Megastore. It goes on for ever, has an ice rink, aquarium (and an underwater zoo, whatever that is!), giant waterfall, amongst other side attractions. There are over 1,200 shops in the mall, I didn't count them, I ...

    Days 4-7... Dubai

... outright bullying when an Arab hawker thrust himself at Chris forcing him to wear his traditional headgear, dragging him into his shop and not letting him go. Days 2-3 were meant to be spent with Chris' friend. We had arranged to meet at what we thought was a certain point along Jeremiah Beach. It wasn't until we waited there for 1.5hrs, walked about 5kms to the famous Burj Al Arab Hotel, wandered into the Dubai Beach Hotel where they gave us a map and directions to the metro, ...
