Went to the Piazza Maggiore after breakfast. It is the historic centre of town with the obligatory church/cathedral (Basilica del Santo Petronio). We visited the City library first. It is a very cool library, very modern but with a beautiful old ceiling. Couldn't do much reading as it is all in Italian.

... why they thought they could do this, and where our cases were going is a mystery. Michael just told them to put their cases in the space between the carriages. Where else??

The second bit of fun was the snow. Yep, as approached Bologna, heavy snow appeared in the fields, and at the station, a fair blizzard was blowing. This was ok, and not unexpected. The real fun was finding the way out! Bologna station has ...

... was rainy each day we were there. But who cares? We're in Bologna! And, most of their streets in the center have arcades that cover the sidewalks. They are the arched, covered walkways that cool you off in the summer heat and keep you dry when it rains.

We got an apartment with a central location. The guy spent a lot of time with us telling us where to eat great food for reasonable prices. We owe him for ...
