Travel Blogs from Hohenschwangau
Godkin stayed here on Jul 9, 2014 during their trip titled: Europe 2014.
This morning we picked up our audio tour of Augsburg. We were not impressed by it. We kept getting lost and Brandi wasn't very interested in the history. We found the bath house and wanted to swim but unfortunately it was closed. We walked by Leopoldo Mozart's house and toured st. Mary's church. Brandi bought some Birkenstocks. We had a few hours …
We still aren't great sleepers so today we were up at 5:30 and out hiking by 6:30. We walked uphill on the side of a mountain for about 40 minutes and came across the most stunning views of Castle Neuschwanstein - it truly was breathtaking. There is an old bridge up there as well where people from around the world bring engraved locks …
... quaint towns with decorative trim. After the castle tours, we finally found some German food for dinner!! This was QUITE the task because there are Italian, Indian, and Asian restaurants everywhere! Not sure what the food itself was, but it was delicious. Ironically enough, the only restaurant we found our 1st night was Italian.
Of the small handful of people that we've asked for help, everyone has been very nice ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Hotel Mueller Hohenschwangau
Loved this hotel
This hotel was the highlight of my trip to Germany. My room overlooked Neuschwanstein and it was neat as a pin. I could not have wished for a better view of the castle. The restaurant was excellent and I wish I could have had more than one meal there. I will definitely come back sometime.
Great Small Hotel
We stayed here in April, 2004, and I agree wholeheartedly with my fellow travellers that this is one of the best small hotels in Europe. The building is an oasis in the midst of insanely busy tourism, everyone rubbing elbows to see the castles, which are wonderful in their own right. The hotel is comfortable, well run and organized and the staff are knowledgeable, helpful and bend over backward to help. The view to both castles from virtually every part of the hotel is incredible. The food is superb, especially if you have the luck to get a table in the glassed-in Wintergarten. And on sunny days, the outdoor terrace is a great place for people watching while you sip a cafe or cold drink. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
We stayed here in early April 2004 and cannot say enough good things about this hotel and its staff. The location is unbeatable (right next to the ticket office for the Kings Castles) and the food, rooms and service are all first class. We highly recommend anyone traveling to this area to stay at the Hotel Mueller.
We stayed in Hotel Muller in November 2002 and I can't say enough good things about our experience. We had a wonderful view of Neuschwanstein from our window and also from the terrace that the room opened to. We got complimentary champagne with dinner, the breakfast was filling and our castle tickets were all arranged for. I would recommend Hotel Muller to anyone who is planning to visit the beautiful little village of Hohenschwangau. It was the best part of our trip to Germany.
I have stayed at Hotel Mueller and have found it to be my favorite hotel in Germany! It's a charming hotel, with an old-world ambience and a caring staff, who are there to make sure you have a wonderful stay.
My husband and I stayed at Hotel Mueller in October 2003 and it was the highlight of our trip to Germany.
Great views of the castles
The Hotel Mueller was a great place to stay with wonderful views of the castles. Staff was helpful and courteous and went out of their way to provide a late dessert on our first night. The hotel is in the center of the activities. Hotel is very clean and modern for the American traveller. My wife thought it was spectacular!!
My favorite hotel in Germany!
This hotel is fantastic! We did not have one of the rooms with a view of the castle, but our room was delightful! It was incredibly clean and full of character. The shower did not have a shower curtain (popular in Europe). The room was spacious with very nice windows. The bilingual staff were extremely polite and helpful. Parking was free and close.
The restaurant was wonderful. We were given free champagne and an appetizer because we were guests at the hotel. The dining area has a magnificent view of the castle. The dinner was excellent, as was the breakfast, which was included in the price of the room. The breakfast was a large buffet with very fresh and tasty choices. I look forward to staying here again!
Best hotel for "Mad King Ludwig" experience
If you want the quintessential Bavarian hotel experience in the heart of "Mad King Ludwigs" land, stay at the Hotel Mueller which lies between his boyhood home and his fairyland castle - Neuschwanstein. You can walk up to the castle (and don't forget to go a little further up to Mary's Bridge for a spectacular view), or you can take a bus or horse drawn carriage. there are numerous trails to walk and a beautiful little lake. I'd go back in a minute and spend at least two or three days. The food at the hotel was very good also and there is an area to eat outside where you can enjoy a Weiss bier in a glorious setting.
View of Neuschwanstein is unbeatable!
When I asked for a view of Neuschwanstein, I never expected such a wonderful room as well. The view was incredable and the room was neat as a pin. I enjoyed the few days I spent there and the food was the best I had in Germany. The
restaurant is a great place to eat.
