Day 20 - Auf wiedersehen pet!

After quick showers, quick because they cost 40 cents per minute at this campsite! We breakfasted on Croissants, bananas and apples before packing up and following the Moselle upstream so we could find a bridge to cross and drive north. We filled the van up, again only 80 pence per L. The scenery was magic, we ascended sharply out of the forested valley to the farmlands plateau above. We passed ...

Denise went into town to do some shopping and I stayed at home to do some tidying up which developed into a full-blown detail clean of the galley floor-- which needed it. One cannot make an interesting blog chapter out of that topic so I will not try. We planned to go to dinner at the restaurant shown in one of yesterday's photos but I was so engrossed in cleaning I forgot to book. Missed out. More ...

    An easy trip to Venlo

... to think we'd get through without any big interruptions. We have heard horror stories of four to six hour waits which completely ruin the day as you can imagine. Today at the first lock just 3km along the way we had to wait an hour. Not much in the grand scheme of things but a frustration at the time and reminds us that we'll not go unscathed. Easy going The rest of the trip was simple and easy. The lock process is becoming ...
