... town. It had started to snow outside and was much colder than we were used to in the other parts of Switzerland we had been. The town is hundreds of years old and the buildings have amazing artwork on the outside. We also visited the Catholic Cathedral and the paintings on the ceilings were incredible! After walking around the town, we stopped by the apartment to pick our bags up and went to a bar near the train station for a drink. Here we have Ovomaltine which is ...

... reach my destination as quickly as possible: Innsbruck, as from there I can turn south to Italy once again. I know what this means: for the first time, my hike through the Alps is starting to feel like a routine. It's not really a challenge any more. I've dealt with cold, slugs, rain, climbs, traffic, shortage of food, getting lost--and now I feel I can handle pretty much anything that'll come my way. It's all starting to feel a bit too easy. Day 283 4 hrs, 8 kms Strengen has a peculiar landmark: a covered bridge that looks like a bunch of random pieces of lumber attached together, all crooked, looking like it could fall over at any time. Just seems really out of place here in Austria where everything it seems is made to perfection. Does look pretty cool ...

... the top of the cliff, having to backtrack into town. Another trail climbs, high, high up through the village and into the forest beyond. A jolly farmer offers me a ride on his tractor... but no... can't do that. Then after a short walk, the trail starts to zigzag down to the road again, not far from where I started. I figure I'll just walk along the road for a while. Can't win 'em ...

Day trip from Arosa over to Liechtenstein.

Started by taking the bus through Liechtenstein to Feldkirch in Austria, having lunch, and then exploring the capital of Vaduz.

Not the biggest city, but interesting to casually walk over the border and walk around the centre seeing important government buildings in essentially a small village with lovely views of mountains.
