... views. The volcano is only belching smoke, no lava is flowing. The views are magnificent. Life seems good on Stromboli, very slow and relaxed.

Today i take the ferry to Salina. This is one very slow paced island. There is not much to see here, its more about the very very relaxed lifestyle. The town pretty much closes at around midday and nothing opens again till 5pm. Lucky the odd cafe stays open.

We have two ...

Have been exploring this little island on foot. From where we are staying in San pietro it's a 30 minute walk to the beach for a swim. We discovered the prehistoric village perched up on a small isthmus, dating from prehistoric times. 14th century bc. From this position they could see everything that was coming to get them! 22 round stone hits were uncovered in 1949. ...

Slight hiccough, the ferry we had hoped to take was full. After carefully planning our bus connection at 7:40 that morning to take us to Santa marina, we are told the ferry is full. There are no other ferries that day, so we had to get to the other side of the island to Rinella to catch a different line. Taxi to Rinella cost us 36 euros! Then we had to wait ...
