    We stopped at the port of Corfu. The only way to really get around the island is to take an excursion. At least it was for us. We were going to see a Monastery in the village of Palaiokastritsa and to the village of Gastouri to visit the 19th century Achilleion Palace.
    The places were very beautiful and again the excursions didn't disappoint ...

    ... Nope. There was a "book store." I looked for a map. Nope. Eventually I went outside for a taxi. Found one. We loaded up and I said "downtown." He looked at me like I was speaking Swahili. I might as well have been. "Acropolis." No dice. He was getting exasperated. I dug around my bag and pulled out the tourist book Mom got me for Christmas, flipped to the map of downtown Athens and pointed to it. He looked at it, made some noise, and off we went. He still didn't seem happy. ...

    We are sleeping well. The late nights, wine and sun are lulling us to a peaceful sleep each night. This day, entering Greece though, we wound our clocks forward an hour as we entered into daylight saving time. This meant we got to bed at 2am instead of 1am and were up at 7 am to have time for breakfast and get ready for our day trip to Corfu.

    The original trip I had booked was cancelled due to lack of numbers, which was disappointing. This was the 2nd trip I had pre booked ...

    ... half an hour we were on the west coast of Corfu. Unfortunately here the roads became very small and windy and it was quite tricky with the van. Nevertheless we found a car park and a very nice restaurant for lunch overlooking the beach. the bbeach itself was lovely but the water very cold so no swimming.
