A late summer's day

A town called Auxerre
... by the life size Mary Poppins holding pride of place in the main hall of the cathedral. In case you are doubting, see the pic below. This building also housed an impressive Gallo-Roman museum of artefacts found locally. Very impressive. Auxerre is a much more intact medieval town than some others we have been to. My theory tested
... what. Most restaurants have three menus at different prices. Today the veal came from the 15€ menu, that must be the menu with offal. I will avoid that menu from now on and only go with the expensive menu. Will let you know how that works out. Don't worry, Lynee, kidneys will never make it to the Wednesday night menu at home. Fun with the horses & herb garden
Today was another nice day!
We had lunch at Philippe's mother's house ~ rabbit and potatoes, carrots and more dessert.
We are eating dessert with every lunch and dinner! Yikes!!! But SOOO good! =)
Next MC took us to where the twins ride horses once a week so Cade could ride a pony, but he didn't want to. So, we took a nice walk in the forest with the pony.

... to find bikes to hire. No luck (damn). Walked it instead. Back to the house for late afternoon wine and cheese - a habit which might be hard to break when we get home. Haven't made up my mind about this village we're staying in - sometimes feels like we're staying on the set of a horror movie set in the 1600's.
