I'm not sure what we were really expecting but what we got was a guided tour around a few villages which have been set up to service the tourist industry. This morning I leave early at 6am to catch a bus to Chiang Khong, Thailand which is 2.5 hours north of Chiang Rai on the border of Laos. Once there I take a boat to cross over into Laos to Luang Prabang, Laos.
