I needed to bring some papers up north with me to apply for a grant for my research. While up there, I figured I might as well make the drive worthwhile and check out the famous Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium. I am definitely glad I did. Located at the old Ocean Expo Park, the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium is ...

Today was a shorter day thankfully. A slower, but not any smoother ferry left an hour later and came back an hour earlier than the one yesterday. This island seemed to be more civilized, but everything was located along the perimeter. I chose to rent a Honda Today moped over ...

... water site for comparison).
For my other project (mapping out the deep reefs in a specific set area on the western coast here), I am still having trouble getting the data I need from the coast guard (underwater sound wave reflections, telling me the depth of all areas and allowing me to interpret possible bottom structures like reefs, sand patches, bare bedrock, etc.). The good news is a LOT of people really like my plan and ...
