A more leisurely start this morning with breakfast overlooking the ocean as it crashed against the rocks below and not quite splashing over us! Then check out and off heading south, continuing our anti clockwise circumnavigation of the Island. The main objective today was the volcanoes, which, at over 4000 ft, resulted in some climbing.....for the car, but straight roads meant it wasn't white knuckle stuff, although some of the ...

All throughout the day that's all we kept repeating, "and it's only the first port..." sorry I did not post last night I was way to tired to even open my computer. Which means i had an absolutely surreal day. We all jumped out of bed at 6:00 AM and swarmed that decks of the ship. It was the first time we all had seen land for SEVEN days!! ... It took us a while to find our accommodation, it was way out the back of Volcano towards the end of a long country road. We were becoming a bit worried about what we had chosen, but it turned out to be a great homestead with 7 bedrooms. We were the only ones for our two night stay, so we had the place to ourselves. It reminded us a bit of Dad's house (albeit slightly more Hawaiian). Our hostess, Mahi, was fantastic with her advice about where to go when, ...

... There are quite a few Canadians on board, though we haven’t come across anyone else from the Maritimes. (I forgot to mention that on our Mexican cruise we met someone from mid-west US who after we said we were from Nova Scotia, they immediately said that they had seen every episode of Trailer Park Boys!)

The five days were jam packed and flew by. We’ll be in Hawaii for the next five days, visiting four different islands and five ...
