The last time I was in the area I stayed at Snowmass and decided that this time I wanted to stay downtown so that I could have easy access to restaurants for dinner and be able to walk around and look around the town in the evenings. Once ensconced in our space in Basalt, we visited Larry and Kathy at their newly-rebuilt hotel in Aspen which was, in Kathy's words, "Just darling!" Chris, the on-site manager, suggested Happy Bowl for supper and we all found it some of the best Thai curry we ever ate. On the walk back we toured the Jerome Hotel which is a very old example of fine hoteliery from Colorado’s pioneer days. Startlingly fine appointment await at every ...
