Two things are certain about Tokyo: It is big, and there is a lot to eat. Oh, and also we're exhausted by 8:30 at night and we wake up at 6:00 every morning. (I guess that’s three things.) Stupid jet lag.
We’ve spent the past couple of days taking in a few of the major neighborhoods in Tokyo. Really it’s a city of many small neighborhoods which retain their own personality and charm. We moved out of Tennozu Isle on the bay, and went up just north of Asakusa. Asakusa i...

Alright. There are two days to cover and still 146 pictures to upload because we`ve been lagging behind. The videos seriously take forever. Last night we were here for a couple of hours and only got about forty-eight pictures/videos up. But that`s not really of any interest to anyone, I suppose, and so I`ll move on.

Yesterday, we decided to go back to Harajuku because it was Sunday and all of the strangely-dressed folk were ...

Tokyo, Kanto, Japan gfjhj... I said, that now that we were at the top I thought we could sleep a little bit. She informed me that we had another 500 meters of insane rock climbing to do and I thought I would sit right down in the middle of the hut and cry. I wanted to just live there on the mountain in the hut forever. Just so I could get some damn sleep and take off my friggin boots. But, I didn't. We pressed on and made it to the beautiful summit at sunrise. Everyone shouts different things at the sun as ...
Tokyo, Japan cpaul... way. Any guidebook on Tokyo will point out the main attraction and pastime of the city - shopping. Each neighborhood that they recommend to visit is because it contains a different type of shopping district - upscale, hipster, electronics, etc. There`s even an intersection that`s written up in all the guidebooks purely because there are so many people there. Even though I was there in the middle of the week and the middle of the day ...
Tokyo, Japan laura1... then to our hotel. We were literally whisked to the front desk. I can't over emphasize how polite and service oriented the people have been here in our less than 1/2 day in Japan. Our bags were picked up by a bell hop and put on a wagon, we were led to the front desk and handed over to someone else who ensured that we didn't wait more than 30 seconds for desk service. We were checked in in record time ...
Tokyo, Japan christinagary... me to properly hear anything. And now, the part you've all been waiting for, me going on and on about flowers again! Though this time, just to shake things up, it's all about the cherry blossoms. But only because the plum blossoms are long gone, otherwise you'd be hearing more about those, too. How important are sakura in Japan? You have no idea. They're on the news, they fuel tourism like you wouldn't believe, they're an excuse to go out and get ...
Tokyo, Japan gadelle... really great - I love being able to celebrate that sacred time even though I am halfway across the world. The congregation is very nice - they even made me stand up and introduce myself. The priest seems to be British, and there are many Filipinos in the congregation, although most other ethnicities seem to be represented as well. The songs were nearly all familiar to me from mass back home, and of course, the mass was the same. I really appreciate ...
Tokyo, Japan mmdillho... thought was a Kareokee bar but it turns out Japanese dont do Kareokee like we do back home (get ****** and shout into a mic in a pub), they have these little booths they go in and can actually record themselves singing. Completely pointless if you ask me whats the fun if you cant make a complete **** of yourself singing Combine Harvester by the Wurzels. Anyway will keep you all updated next time i get a chance to use the internet. Bye for now
Tokyo, Japan fiveaces... rude... and this somehow developed into a hilarious slurping contest. If only you could have seen Caitlin trying to slurp it so loudly...... and the noodle not going anywhere. The next day (I think... man I have a terrible memory) we took our first subway and then the Shinkansen (bullet train) to Hiroshima. I loved both the subway and the train. By the way, the subway wasn't nearly so crowded that anyone had to shove us in hehehe. The train goes ...
