everything I could want in a hostel, including a hello kitty heated toilet. Also it felt very nice to be so warmly welcomed back on my return from Kyoto. Home from home, except much cleaner than my place!

The staff was welcoming and helped us carried our luggage to the second floor. The common area has a very nostalgic, relaxing feel to it. For the shower, 100yen deposit for every 5minutes and it has a timer too.

We made it to Toyko!
After a 13 hour plane ride we finally made it to Toyko Airport. Next on the list was navigating the subway system, it was a breeze, lots of English signs and very easy to find our way. Golly, there sure are a lot of people here.
Two things are certain about Tokyo: It is big, and there is a lot to eat. Oh, and also we're exhausted by 8:30 at night and we wake up at 6:00 every morning. (I guess that’s three things.) Stupid jet lag.
We’ve spent the past couple of days taking in a few of the major neighborhoods in Tokyo. Really it’s a city of many …
...I really think so
On touching down in Japan the differences to Hong Kong and China were immediate and stark. Its funny, I now realise that each time I start out in a new country I begin to feel I've made a mistake, pine for the place I've just left, then slowly after a couple of days get the hang of things and the new surroundings, people and culture grow on you.
One last hurrah
Ok Tokyo has grown on me and I'll be sad to be heading back to the UK. I've really enjoyed the late night banter at the Aizuya Inn, but there are tasks at hand; shopping, sight seeing and sumo.
I enlisted the help of a couple of Tokyo free guides, Kayo (her first time) and Koji (my sumo fixer). What an experience! Kayo, bless her, really …
Land Of The Rising Sun
After two flights and an annoying transit in Shanghai (we had to go through immigration, so technically we can add 'China' to our list of countries visited) we arrived at Narita airport,
approximately 57 kilometres from Tokyo. Although the train system looks absolutely insane at first glance, we soon figured out that we needed to take a private …
