We spent about 3 hours touring the National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis. It was a very humbling experience. The museum is located at the Lorraine Motel, where Martin Luther King Jr was assassinated. It just underwent a $36 million renovation and reopened last month.
Tomorrow we head home, 1600 miles in 3 days.

... we were today. It was really good, and again felt like we were experiencing the beginning of rock and roll. But that is the only good thing about Memphis! It is a seedy, dilapidated, run down city. It needs a whole lot of TLC to bring this blighted city up to standard. Oh wow this is a crazy place. Elvis is singing and posted everywhere you turn. Had a fabulous day despite being a little tired.
The cab driver that approached us at Amtrak station in Memphis could have been called a bit sketchy, as he shoved our luggage in his trunk that was filled with his (daughter's laundry) and he told my brother the fare would probably be $28.00.
