I have had to work the last two days but I managed to leave a bit early today so I could talk my parents to the Van Gogh Landscapes exhibit at the Kuntsmuseum.

... mais c'est déjà dépaysant. après le musée des Beaux Arts le Dimanche Matin, on profite d'un temps digne de celui que j'ai laissé sur Avignon pour aller prendre l'air et la verdure au parc Botanique et zoologique de Mulhouse qui vaut vraiment un détour.

We of course went straight for the large Roman theatre and then walked over to other nearby sites, including the temple facing the theatre, the main marketplace and town hall, a bakery, and the very interesting well house and bath house where you can go down into the well and look out to the bright sky high above.

For the rest of the field study we went to Basel, Switzerland and Freiburg and Saarbrucken Germany. They were all actually pretty similar. Nothing too exciting to tell, pictures tell all. We also went to the Maginot Line; the French defense line on the border with France. That was pretty cool to see the underground bunkers. :)

... sweet foods, but I manage to persuade/ make Pete buy 3 slices, just because it looked so nice. Lots of cream and cherries - it was great! We also managed to pick up some ripe plums off an old guy selling them in the market square, and they were the best plums I've ever tasted! After a month on our own journeys, we met up at the Euroairport on French lands, and then took a short bus ride (20mins) into Switzerland! The airport is shared between France, Germany and Switzerland because it is so close to the borders of all the countries. We tried to rack our brains for what little German we picked up last trip, but alas, it was buried deep. So luckily, the multilingual, friendly Swiss folk were eager and willing to help ...
