        ... short ride upstream to 'sunshine lodge' on the other bank...

        A stilted village of cabins appears between the leaves. I look for other, I am the only one - and to think I had considered paying for a private chalet! It proves to be more of a homestay experience than a tour package activity I thought as I wrote this alone, in my 6-bed dorm, doused in deet and surrounded by the sounds of the night time rainforest.
