... we were invited to a bbq at Kevin and Magda's new house and met their smiley baby, Nathan . Grant and Nichole collected us and we had a bit of a tour of Auckland first. I am finding it a rather complicated city - but so attractive with village like communities, and water everywhere.

... war canoe, Ngatokimatawhaorua. After we had been round the grounds, we walked back to the centre of Paihia for lunch in a little cafe. Although the wind was picking up we still sat outside to enjoy the view. A few of us then got an ice cream and sat on the harbour until it was time to get back on the bus and head back to Auckland. Back to the walk and we climbed up Mount Eden (Maungawawhau), an extinct volcano and also a great place to look down on Auckland. Then onto through Alexandra and Cornwall parks and One Tree Hill. The latter has the Stardome Observatory, but we went by a little early for ...
... the boat and heading for home we were back in the harbour by 4pm.
The dinner menu consisted of the snapper we caught which was served sashimi and ceviche style and a yummy Thai salmon with rice to continue the seafood theme.
Spending the day on the harbour was great fun and an excellent way to spend our penultimate day of travel! One more day to go!
