... cocktails and pudding. Jack's 'Navel 2nd Officer' cocktail was stronger than everybody else's by far. Emily dropped Josh back at his house on the North Shore with the tunes blasting. The 4 of us then made it back to smash out some songs on SingStar til late which neither of us have done for years. It felt great to be back behind the wireless blue mic. ... Tahiti, across the international date line so we arrive in the afternoon of the day before we left. Phileas Fogg would have understood. The flight from NZ to Tahiti had a few bumpy moments with the seatbelt sign going on more than a few times. Again we used the 'card swipe' option for movies and food that cost completely defeating the cheaper ticket option we had chosen in the first place. Pro tip. ... the dorms, but nevertheless it is peaceful to some extent. So I slept for 4 hrs. I could have done much more, but I did not want to get out of the daily rhythm too much.

So I went for a walk around Auckland, mainly the harbor area and had European food. Auckland seems quite international. Thy city's atmosphere perhaps can be compared with Kopenhagen even though I have not been in Denmark for many years.

A last day catching up on news, our ship is in port and my nephew who was up early enough actually saw the ship heading into harbour past Rangitoto. We have a second breakfast in Beach Cafe say goodbye to Steve the owner and my niece takes us for a drive round the area looking at the massive amount of building there has been since our last visit. The number of new houses is amazing and the prices have rocketed ...
