Friday afternoon saw us back in Holland - Yes! As soon as we arrived it was time for lunch and although we did go to Maccas the lunch was a thoroughly Dutch one! We also enjoyed looking at an Ikea Store and in the evening it was again time to meet up with some special people. (H)
... on the train who was “refusing to cooperate” with the train authorities so we had to wait for the police to come. They took FOREVER to get there. The train was packed too with people standing in the aisles so everybody was antsy. After a half hour delay they finally got him off the train and we were on our way. We made it back in one piece.
That was our last big trip before we go back home :) We only have two weeks and one weekend left here. So I will be seeing yall ...
... After lunch Bryan and I visited Van Gogh Museum while he was in his onesie, lots of people wondering why he is wearing his pj's! Back at the apartment a few of us were sitting around having a quiet drink and the quote of the day was made! ... sounds like baby-talk to Dutch ears and she probably thought I spoke it last at age 3! I was probably saying the equivalent of, "hewwo! gimme ticket! Taaaaa!") gawped some more, but suddenly when I came to go through the gate, found that the place had filled up and the queue for tickets was down the street. The "heart" of the museum is the Eregalerij (Gallery of Honour) where they have all the really famous works displayed in one huge space, and walking in ...
... lost one plug converter and an ipad charger. I almost lost my water bottle at the sandwich shop, but luckily they still had it when we stopped by there in the morning. On one of the many bridges, we stopped to take a one handed picture of ourselves, but a nice policeman on a bike stopped and offered to take the picture for us. A few tries later we had two nice pictures of us, a rarity, since we don't often hand our iphones off to strangers to take a picture. We were able to replace ...
