... beautiful Buda side has palaces and castles. Pest was more about commerce and so it is larger and isn't as pretty. So, heading north along the Pest side of the Danube we cross via the Margaret Bridge, which is itself beautiful. It also provides access to an island in the river. It's a gorgeous island. We had a long trip from Graz to Budapest but it was broken up with a walking tour of Maribar with a very passionate guide who took us to the oldest winery - vines over 400 years old, plus up and down cobble stones and steps into the old part of town. Cheryl and I put on a bit of ...

... against the wall by mistake. That made for a grumpy train ride for young Housa. It sounds like a nice theory, go to sleep in one country, wake in another. Save on accommodation and such. The only drama is that when you cross the border at 2am, and enter the other at 3am it means you’re up with the lights on for an hour. Disrupts your sleep and you don’t really recover. Rolling into Budapest at around 6.30am first impressions where quite impressive. It ...
