Conveniently close to the airport, and located by a bus route with direct access the central Helsinki. The room had a kitchenette and was clean and comfortable. Staff was very helpful with local information and bus schedules, and let me leave my bags while I went into town for a while, then drove me back to the airport.

We walked out a short way for dinner which included some good Finnish beer and Andy had a lovely piece of salmon. The boys and I had delicious pizzas (it's so nice to finally feel better after a week of a grumbling tummy and to enjoy the taste of food again!) which were so enormous we had a doggie bag to ...
... every household. So I sat in the sauna and I discovered a few things. Firstly, they're kind of boring. Secondly, they're really hot. Uncomfortably hot. No, make that unbearably hot. I counted to 60 in my head and I was dying by the time I got the one minute mark! I left the sauna and had a quick dip in the cool water, then gave it another go. I tried both with and without steam, but even after the cool water pool I just couldn't hack it. I felt like ...
