Conveniently close to the airport, and located by a bus route with direct access the central Helsinki. The room had a kitchenette and was clean and comfortable. Staff was very helpful with local information and bus schedules, and let me leave my bags while I went into town for a while, then drove me back to the airport.

Now that we're pretty familiar with the city, the main train station/bus depot was in actuality a mere few minute walk away, and we hopped on the bus. Made it to the counter at 6:58pm. Luggage acquired!

The smooth sea made for a lazy day. The rhythmic hum and vibration of the ship's engines had a real calming effect, and I found myself dozing off several times. It’s amazing that even though I had been out of the Navy for over 23 years, my body quickly adapted to the feel of being at sea. I guess once a sailor, always a sailor. Over the course of the day I finished a couple of blog episodes, so late in the afternoon, ...
