... to travel, there was a sense I got from so many people that I was going on "vacation" for a year. I think I had the same sense at first but I have found something different. I have found a way of living that has as much routine as a daily work schedule. Everyday, I do chores that often I would rather not do, and so on and so forth. I think it is important to remember that the grass is never greener on the other side of anything ...
Muriwai Beach, New Zealand mistyandmark... had mud oozing between my toes - at least half an hour from the car! Great :-) Lucy was extremely proud as she managed to stay on her feet for the whole adventure.

Eventually we made it to the beach and the kids had a great time exploring and playing whilst I tried my best to clean off my trousers. It was a fabulous beach, just a shame that after all that effort the tide was right in! Never mind we had a great time :-) The journey back to the car was ...
Little Huia, Auckland, New Zealand joparky... that rests or just NZ is just that much slower...

It is great to come to NZ and see my Mum, solve the countries problems (mainly rugby) in discussions with Jack, spend time stacking with wood with Dad, meet my first nephew and his new Mum, to see how big my Godson has grown and to spend time with friends. But, I have realised I still have finished business in another lands. I still need to do a lot of things before I hang up my boots and return to ...

Auckland, North Island, New Zealand nzbo... br>
We had a few drinks in a bar, free pizza and watched the All Blacks vs France. Then on Monday picked up the camper van, Mir the Spaceship, and got on the road for our New Zealand adventure, we couldn't wait. We drove out the city and headed East towards the coast, day 1 of the camper van tour.

Peace Rob, Love Nic

xx
,
Auckland, North Island, New Zealand robbiedinho... across it. At the middle of the bridge there is a bungy jump site, where we watched some one do a jump! Scary stuff. We then visited an old Maori fortress which was then turned into a gun point for the NZ army. They constructed the defenses when they thought they were under attack from Russia. They weren't! The guns have only been fired once and that was to salute the Queen on one of her visits! The next day we were heading off on the Kiwi Experience!
Auckland, North Island, New Zealand jz2009... this time!! Monday night was when I was meant to do the majority of my packing. But Sarah invited me around for dinner saying 'just have something to eat and then you can go home and pack'. Four hours later I was still sitting in her garage 'helping' the boys make fire soccer balls for Boys Group on Friday. Note - we did attempt to blow up a crusty marrow with old fireworks and I managed to ...

auckland, North Island, New Zealand bowkerexploitsThis will be my fourth visit to Cambodia, following my experiences in 2004, 2006 and 2007. Last year I was hanging out all year to travel back to Siem Reap to visit Savong's School, but somehow this never happened - a combination of work, another trip (to Montreal which was marvellous) and then money. New Zealand's dollar has been skydiving against the US Currency, and where a eyar ago I could buy 80 cents American for $1.00 New ...
Auckland, New Zealand, New Zealand duncan_stuartThere are a few things that are worth noting about Auckland that I just find crazy, brilliant, or strange. The first is the traffic lights. In Auckland they do the coolest thing, you can walk diagonal in cross walks. Now, I understand the relevance of this may not be readily apparent, but think about it. You are standing on the corner looking across the intersection at where you want to be and bummed that you have to wait through TWO lights. Well, not anymore, no... just walk ...
