      ... Last chance for photos. Strolled along the waterfront promenade. Again, breath-taking scenes. I have enjoyed the photography this trip. Deb decided that we NEED a gelato in Italy which is easier said than done. It is off season and we were right in the middle of the ritual siesta. We had to wait until 2:45 pm before any shops were open! How do they run a country?

      Sorry it's late - we don't have wifi in the place we're staying. Yesterday (Wednesday 7th Jan) we woke up to an amazing breakfast once again and then we were dropped off into town in Lugano. The shops are so big and are many levels. We went to Manor first and had a look around - the department stores here have everything including a supermarket on the first floor, a pet shop and a restaurant on the top floor. I still ...

      ... well, I am trying to move on. At a minimum I will say that the train through the alps was beautiful. And Laussane sits in a lake right at the foot of the alps. May be worth a stop someday. Off to cinque terre tomorrow after a morning in Milan. It was 90 degrees here today, kind of a shock after cold London and cool paris. Going to rain for 4-5 days...
