This was probably my favourite day of activities so far. We hired a boat for the day and we travelled around the fishing villages. The water was crystal clear and beautiful. All the colours were so bright and incredible! On board little Vietnamese ladies were doing manicure, pedicures and massages. I felt like a queen. We travelled around to where there was some little islands. We hired some snorkels so we 'couldn't' swim. The water was so salty so I ...

... spitting here yet! In Hoi An verblijven we in een homestay maar eentje met 7 kamers dus eigenlijk een klein hotelletje. Het ligt op 3 km van de oude stad en 2 km van het strand. We zullen onze 3 dagen hier gemakkelijk gevuld krijgen. Na een snelle kennismaking met de uitbaatster, Hip, gaan we in het erover gelegen sjiek hotel iets eten. The food is very delicious and not expensive but unfortunately we didn't find the ...

... hotel and we were then met by our chef in the hotel lobby. We were off to cooking school. Jumping into a taxi, our first stop was the market. Our chef explained that it opened as early as 1 am when local villages and restaurants not in Hoi An would arrive on motorbikes to obtain their food. Locals would begin arriving from 4 or 5 am in order to get the freshest food. He had already brought the meat early that morning so he showed us round the ...

... however, it is not uncommon to be faced with a motor bike or bicycle on the wrong side of the road. Cars beep their horns at frequent intervals, particularly when overtaking motor bikes and bicycles. Seat belts are in cars, but often we can't wear them because clips no longer work. Taxis are ridiculously cheap, so we have become quite lazy, often using them in preference to walking or riding a ...
